What Is Passion Week?
Jesus’ final week on earth is a mighty testimony to God’s great love, culminating with the single greatest event in history, Jesus’ resurrection. Easter is the celebration of Jesus and His victory over sin and death. During “Passion Week”, New Hope will embark on a journey of prayer and fasting. Each day, we will focus on a specific theme to pray for and will have scripture to reflect/pray about. We encourage everyone to seek and petition God as we embrace another Easter in joyful hope of the glory to come.
Fasting: Esther 4
Pastor Malcolm and Kathy are encouraging people to participate in a three day (Esther) fast. Fasting of your choice, Wednesday – Friday (concluding Friday night at the Good Friday service with communion).
Monday: “Thanksgiving & Praise” – Hebrews 13:15
May we begin Holy Week thanking God for all He has done and by giving Him praise.
Tuesday: “Prayer for our Community” – Matthew 5:43-48
May everyone in our community come to know Christ as LORD. We all have battles we face and difficulties of life; may we all encounter the King of the universe.
Wednesday: “Prayer for our church & their families” – James 5:16
May God bless the families of our church and meet their every need.
Thursday: “Prayer for our Pastors, Staff, and Volunteers” Romans 13:7
May the LORD bless them and watch over them. Fill them with strength, wisdom, and love.
Friday: “Prayer for the sick and those with chronic illnesses” 1 Peter 2:24
We are trusting and believing for mighty miracles to be done!
Saturday: “Prayer for all the prodigals and the lost” – Luke 19:10
May all the prodigals be called home and may the lost be found!
Sunday: “Hallelujah! He is risen!” – Luke 24:1-12
The tomb is empty! We serve a risen God! He is alive and well – sitting at the right hand of the Father!
